NEAT February-March Interesting Objects
A new Near-Earth asteroid, 2000 ES70 = JBHTAT, was discovered with
NEAT on 6 March and confirmed on subsequent days. It is an Earth-approaching Amor with size 1-2 km (1 mile). Below is an observation of it
with NEAT taken on 14 March 2000 UT. This is the first NEO discovered
with the new NEAT system on the MSSS 1.2-m telescope. It was discovered
on the second full night of operations. A visualization of its orbit is available.
Its orbital elements are a,e,i,q = 1.80, 0.32, 25, 1.2283 (G. Williams, MPC).
