NEAT November-December Interesting Objects
2000 UN30 is an Earth-approaching Amor asteroid, about 1 km in size,
that was detected with NEAT observations on 20 November 2000.
2000 WX28 = LXI24S is a new Earth-approaching Amor asteroid
discovered with NEAT on 23 November 2000, and followed up by
others and with NEAT on 27 November 2000. It is approximately 215
m (0.1 mile) in diameter and is not considered potentially hazardous.
Its a,e,i,q = 2.95, 0.62, 6, 1.1356 (T. Spahr, MPC). A visualization of
the 2000 WX28 orbit is shown, but please remember that scientific
conclusions can not be drawn from this diagram.
2000 WN107 = LZLNS5 is a new Earth-crossing Apollo asteroid
discovered with NEAT on 29 November 2000, moving 0.32 deg/day.
This is a large NEA, about 2 km (1.2 miles) in diameter, but not
considered potentially hazardous. A visualization of the 2000 WN107
orbit is shown. The a,e,i,q = 1.55, 0.42, 13, 0.9035 (T. Spahr, MPC).
LZKUAB was not real.
2000 WY65 = LZMWKS is a Mars-approaching asteroid, about 900 m
(0.5 mile) in diameter, detected with NEAT on 29 November 2000. Its
a,e,i,q = 2.586138, 0.4113239, 8.59057, 1.522398 (T. Spahr, MPC).
2000 WJ107 = LZNIQF was detected with NEAT on 29 November 2000,
moving 1.38 deg/day. It was discovered 3 days earlier by LINEAR. It is
a small, Apollo Earth-crossing asteroid about 90 m (0.05 mile) in
diameter, with a,e,i,q = 1.97, 0.56, 6, 0.8616 (Tim Spahr, MPC).
2000 XW = M0OAJX was discovered on 1 December 2000 moving 0.4
deg/day. It is a ~3 km (1.8 mile) Mars-approaching asteroid with a,e,i,q
= 2.0000231, 0.4113239, 8.59057,1.66156 (T. Spahr, MPC).
M0PWPO was not real
2000XG14 = M0RMXW was discovered on 1 December 2000 moving
0.35 deg/day. It is a ~5 km (3 mile) main-belt asteroid with a, e, i, q =
a 3.0536775, 0.2957876, 32.91424, 2.15044 (T. Spahr, MPC)
2000 QG33 = M0ZXUL was discovered moving 0.39 deg/day on 2
December. It is a ~ 2 km (1.2 mile) Mars-approaching asteroid with
a,e,i,q = 2.3228803, 0.2511320, 9.23264, 1.7395 (T. Spahr, MPC)
2000 XL2 = M1Q0S1 was discovered 4 December 2000 moving 0.15
deg/day. It is a 2 km (1.2 mile) Mars-approaching asteroid with a,e,i,q
= 2.5297145, 0.3074020, 6.69687,1.75208 (T. Spahr).
2000 XF44 = M1QMNC discovered with NEAT on 4 December 2000
moving 2.23 deg/day, is a new Earth-approaching Amor asteroid,
about 250 m (0.15 miles) in diameter. A visualization of the 2000 XF44
orbit is shown. Its a,e,i,q = 2.50, 0.56, 13, 1.1009 (T. Spahr, MPC).
2000 XH14 = M1TCQ0 was discovered on 4 December 2000 moving
0.10 deg/day. It is an ~8 km (5 miles) main-belter with a,e,i,q =
3.3029582, 0.1751396, 20.76957, 2.72448 (T. Spahr, MPC).
