2001 Interesting Objects
2001 DS8 = MSSR6U is a new Earth-approaching Amor discovered with
NEAT on 17 February 2001. It is only
~100 m (0.06 miles) in size (orbit
visualization). Its a,e,i,q = 2.09, 0.51,
2, 1.0339 (T. Spahr, MPC).
2001 DK80 = MV9GYU is an asteroid
discovered with NEAT on 24
February 2001.
2001 DA77 = MU7U3J is a 1-km
Mars-crossing asteroid discovered
with NEAT on 21 February 2001. Its
a,e,i,q = 1.6861674, 0.1669933,
21.42039, 1.40459 (T. Spahr, MPC).
Comet 2000 Y2 = MTJS5V is a comet
detected with NEAT on 19 February
2001. It is in a highly elliptical orbit
with a perhelion of 2.745 AU and
period of 2901.4 years.
2001 EA = MYKK0O discovered with
NEAT on 2 March 2001 and followed
up on 4 March 2001, is a ~3.5-km
Mars-approaching asteroid with
a,e,i,q =
2.3730,0.2779076,7.24877,1.7136 (G.

MZBHNW discovered with NEAT on
4 March 2001 and followed up on 5
March 2001, is a Near-Earth asteroid
candidate (see following month).
