NEAT April 1998 Interesting Objects
1998 HT31 = CDMMQJ, was discovered with NEAT on 4/29/98 moving 1.8 degrees/day, and relatively bright with V = 16.5.
It was recovered with NEAT and accelerated up to 2.6 degrees/day. It is an Apollo Earth-crosser with diameter about 270
m, and is classified as a Potentially Hazardous Asteroid, although it poses no current danger to the Earth. Its orbital
elements are: a,e,i,q = a,e,i = 2.51, 0.69, 7, 0.7715 (G. Williams, MPC).
1998 HD14 = CC47RK, was discovered with NEAT on 4/26/98 moving 1.1 degrees/day with V = 18.7. It is an Aten Near
Earth Asteroid, one of only 30 asteroids known with semi-major axis less than the Earth's, and is the 5th Aten discovered
with NEAT. It is an Earth-crosser with diameter about 270 m, and is classified as a Potentially Hazardous Asteroid,
although it poses no current danger to the Earth. Its orbital elements are: a,e,i ,q = 0.96, 0.31, 8, 0.6636 (G. Williams, MPC)
