NEAT May-June Interesting Objects
Comet 1999 N4 was detected with NEAT on 9 and 10 June 2000. This comet was discovered in
July 1999 and has a parabolic orbit that approaches no close to the Earth than beyond Jupiter.
Notice the nebulosity identifying it as a comet.
K6QLAP was discovered with NEAT on 4 June 2000. Follow-up observations showed it to be an
Apollo Earth-crossing asteroid, about 300 m (1/5 mile) in size. It was designated 2000 LE2. Later
it was found to be a re-detection of the object 1999 LS7.
